Work in child protective service. Have worked in all service areas, intake, investigations, treatment and foster care. Responsible for agency issued equipment such as cell phone, laptop, and camera. Mentor to new workers and interns. • Job responsibility is assessing the safety of children during a child abuse/ neglect report investigation and working with the family once a child is removed for reunification. Work with parents who have children still in the home or with relatives to provide treatment services and promote healthy family relationships. • Work with children who are in foster care to provide counseling services to deal with disruption of the family unit. Work closely with foster parents, scheduling visits for parents, schedule medical, dental exams for children and transporting children. Engage parents in treatment services, develop treatment plan for parents and children. Ensure that children are transported for visitation with parents and siblings to ensure family connections. Promote stability for children remaining in foster care. • Work closely with a variety of community agencies.• Specialized training with sexual abuse, drug use, domestic violence, child abuse/neglect and death investigations. • Conduct thorough assessment/home studies on relative placements and provide written reports to the court and supervisors in a timely manner. • Provide training concerning mandated reporting, meth amphetamine production along with the effects that living in a meth lab have on children. Speaking engagements range from teachers to national conferences. Certified as a forensic interview. • Also certified in adult protective services.
