Following an 18-month furlough due to the Covid-19 epidemic, I was offered the opportunity to return to work as Senior Sales Manager. This hybrid position combined group sales (SMERF market) with my role as a Senior Catering Manager and Certified Wedding Planner. Within this role, I worked with Revenue Management and Sales teams to evaluate business, determine availability, establish rates, secure meeting/event space and services (a/v, security, decor, furniture rentals, entertainment, transportation). Providing exceptional service and attention to detail, work with clients to design stunning weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, galas, and social events from conception to completion.

As a Senior Catering Manager, I was responsible for handling all social events including weddings, bar and bar mitzvahs, birthdays, retirements, fundraisers, holiday parties, formals, proms, and more. Daily responsibilities consisted of • responding to inquiries, leads, and conducting prospect calls • creating custom proposals to suit client’s event, vision, and budget. • conducting site visits• creating all event documents including proposals, contracts, Banquet Event Orders, floor plans, invoices, and processing commissions and loyalty rewards points• arranging for decor (linens, florals, lighting, furniture) and entertainment working with industry professionals• running daily meeting with culinary and banquet management to review upcoming events• working with other departments including concierge, valet, security, front office, and outlets to ensure events run smoothly from start to finish • consistently met quarterly sales goals• created marketing materials and promotions• worked with Executive Chef on creating banquet menus, wedding and special events packages, and a custom Athletics menu to cater to professional, collegiate, high school, and club travel teams. • represent the hotel at industry events, wedding expos, and professional organization events to network with area professionals building rapport and promote the hotel to event planners and vendors.
