I am an RN with Critical Care bedside and Quality Improvement experience. My career started here just by chance because I knew nursing had science and stability. Little did I know it would be the best decision I would make. Critical Care was the most thrilling experience I have had in a job. New things were always availiable to be learned, but I wanted to do something more with my nursing career. A former boss called me one day and sent me into my current nursing journey- Quality. I learned quickly as an abstractor the ways of CMS and Joint Commission, propelling my career. I was the first one who wanted to tackle a big project or work in Excel to create data spreadsheets. I had so many mentors to help me build my love of Quality, and thanks to them pushing me to learn more I achieved a lot. I started in Quality Improvement as an abstractor for Core Measures, moving to Manager of the Quality Department, then to Quality Director.My goal is to finish my MBA then focus on becoming certified in Quality- CPHQ.
