I’m a Principal Marketing Representative at San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and the co-chair of the APTA Storytelling Forum. My focus is strategic storytelling about BART’s impact on the region, its employees, history, technological innovations, and its diverse riders. Over the past two years, I have published more than 100 stories about the BART system. The stories are shared with tens of thousands of people via social media, newsletters, and more. As a member of the BART Communications team, I have developed a series of rider engagement, communications, and marketing initiatives, including the rider storytelling series BART Connects (bart.gov/bartconnects), BART’s writing contests (bart.gov/bartlines), One Book One BART (bart.gov/bookclub), and the 2023 and 2024 Transit Saves ad campaigns (bart.gov/transitsaves). I support the department with social media management and strategy, video direction and production, media relations, website management, event production, and frequently works across the BART District to assist departments with strategic messaging and communications needs. Prior to BART, I was a journalist for national and local news organizations. Among other accolades, I won First Place at the 45th Annual San Francisco Press Club Awards in the "Newspapers - Blog/Commentary" category, and her essay “Recovery Season,” originally published in Orion, was listed as a notable mention in The Best American Science and Nature Writing. My debut poetry collection, Hate Mail: Thank You for Reading, was published by Vine Leaves Press in 2022. I have a masters degree in English literature and am a member of the San Francisco Writers Grotto.
