I worked remotely with Silverwork doing a little bit of everything. Working in an agile team, I maintained existing bots and developed new ones. Our development teams were also client facing, so I consulted with the client directly when they encountered issues with the bots. I also worked with a senior developer to fully document Silverwork's robotic operating environment and how to deploy that environment in a new client, as we were expecting to add several new clients in short time. I briefly trained in Azure, creating virtual machines and database servers. I also went beyond the technical to help the company build culture; I was a founding member of the fun committee which planned virtual events for the company and I pushed to diversify Silverwork's recruiting process and to add popular company benefits like unlimited PTO.Resume Bullets:• Manage the maintenance and development of a C# software bot processing 100 mortgages per day• Communicate with management on diversifying recruiting and improving development practices• Identify feature requirements and convey them to clients and teammates verbally and in writing• Encourage cross-team collaboration by asking questions and planning company-wide social eventswww.silverwork-solutions.com/ Show less

This role was intended to be a development role, but I noticed that what the game really lacked was documentation, testing, and a development process. Thus, this role integrated skills of technical writing, product management, engineering management, and quality assurance. EnAct's mission was to not only provide rural communities in developing countries with community-sized, off-grid generators, but also to empower those communities to maintain and manage those systems by themselves. The Minigrid Game simulated the experience of a community of households and businesses sharing a small microhydroelectric generator and managing the costs. In December 2019, we successfully deployed the Minigrid Game to a rural village in Pahang, Malaysia that had received a grant to obtain a generator. The game effectively showed the community members how to balance the load on their future generator and how having a generator will enable them to invest in local enterprises. In addition to my work, I also engaged with local culture, learning about the religious and ethnic diversity of the region by visiting mosques, churches, temples, and museums as well as local film festivals.Resume Bullets:• Performed manual testing and assisted in the development of the Minigrid Game (Python/Angular)• Coordinated customer requests into a prioritized Trello board, smoothing out communication with the developer and ensuring feature deliveries that satisfied both customer and developer• Organized, updated, and simplified existing game documentation, as well as created new documentation to educate game maintainers and enable future developers to onboard smoothly• Deployed the game to rural villages with a team, noting user issues with functionality or UI/UXhttps://www.enactpartners.org/ Show less

I was fully integrated into an Agile development team with 4-6 developers, a product manager, a designer, and a user researcher. As a team, we strove to make a more streamlined experience for our catering partners through the ezManage website. My team's core work was to build a Settings page from scratch so catering partners could manage their businesses in the ezCater marketplace. In addition to building out a clear, user-friendly front end, this task required the back end data structures to be completely redesigned and all the old data converted to fit the new database tables and data models. By the end of my co-op, we successfully launched a read-only version of key business settings such as store hours, order lead time, and delivery pricing/radius. We also unlocked stores hours and temporary closures for editing by our users, allowing hundreds of catering partners to close their online stores for the winter holidays by themselves online instead of calling an ezCater representative to do so. In addition to my valuable experience writing React.js, GraphQL, and Ruby on Rails code, I also obtained incredible insight into the roles of Product Manager and Design/UX Researcher, both of which interested me greatly.Resume Bullets:• Enabled catering partners to change their own settings by redesigning the Ruby on Rails back end and developing new React/Graphql webpages, driving ezCater adoption by large profitable brands• Developed a new lightweight approach to user permissions, simplifying the previous implementation and leaving room for future development of a full-fledged permissions system• Wrote unit and integration tests to help maintain the integrity of the website in a continuous deployment environment• Brought focus and clarity to team meetings, including Agile ceremonies and user research sessionsezcater.com Show less
