I am taking an academic internship with Mercy One House of Mercy (Indianola Site). I am under the supervision of and have the opportunity to shadow the Clinical Manager of the site. I have the opportunity to observe substance abuse counseling sessions, SUD assessments and mental health counseling sessions. I look forward to learning more about the field of mental health and substance abuse treatment and growing as a human services professional.

The Summer Community Advisor position is a means for Residence Life to have eyes on their spaces throughout the summer to ensure safety and maintenance concerns are addressed in a timely manner. They assist with managing summer housing, community development, and preparation for the fall semester. Summer CAs also complete projects for the department.

Working as a student worker for the School Library, assisting patrons, checking out books, and doing inventory.

I have worked as a teachers aid for 3 summers (June through July of 2019,2021, and 2022) I worked with children from the age groups of 11-13 and 14-17 years with a diverse range of different physical, developmental , and learning needs and conditions. Most of the kids I worked with are on the Autism Spectrum, live with Downs Syndrome, and ADD/ADHD diagnoses.
