As a psychologist in private practice, my focus has been on assessment and psychotherapy services in both English and French. My staff of bilingual associates are well equipped to undertake psychological assessments for children and adults, whether it be for learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism and other Mental Health issues. In addition to private referrals, we receive referrals from many school boards, mental health agencies and universities for these types of assessments. I have worked in numerous mental health agencies across Northern and Southern Ontario, in conducting youth justice and child protection assessments as well as currently in the field of Autism. With regard to therapy, our focus is on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), DBT skills training, ACT, mindfulness and a growing proficiency in hypnotherapy. Currently, during the pandemic and in order to reduce spread of Coronavirus, we are conducting components of the psychological assessments and most therapy sessions virtually. This allows for far less in-person contact while yielding good and valid results for clients where this approach is deemed appropriate.
