Google.org NY State COVID-19 SWAT Team Fellow - Full-stack engineer on six month fellowship in collaboration with NY state to evaluate and solve technical challenges related to COVID-19; focused on a Social Services discovery tool to allow residents to find the social services they need during this difficult time- Owned development of Admin side of the app, as well as many of the frontend features for the resident-facing application- In addition to building features on the engineering side, also helped with project scoping and UX research

Google Ad Manager’s Dynamic Ad Insertion product stitches video ads and content together into a single, seamless playlist on the server-side- Promoted to Software Engineer III after ~1.5 years- Designed, implemented, tested, and launched an external-facing API to allow third party ad servers to proactively send video creatives to Google before trafficking, preventing lost impressions and driving revenue in compliance with GDPR- Helped design a central repository for video creatives to allow for deduping and classification, and worked cross-team to build several additional APIs to feed into the repository- Navigated ambiguous questions around creative ownership and safe deletion and implemented the solutions - Built robust testing services, including 10+ end-to-end tests to validate the behavior of multiple services on a continual basis and “hammers” to simulate live traffic and load test the services- Productionalized 4 services, deploying them and setting up monitoring through logging, metrics, and automatic alerting- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to keep the team’s services running smoothly- Presented design reviews to gain broad consensus across relevant teams and directors - Involved in Women in Ads group and regularly volunteer for events to recruit and prepare underrepresented groups
