Hello, my name is Michelle Schultz. I am eagerly pursuing a career as an Electrician. I have recently finished my 309A Level 1 Electrician and Construction Maintenance education. This was completed at Centennial College through the Pre-Apprenticeship Program. Classes include, reading blueprints, understanding electrical code, and installation of Romex and BX cable, receptacles, including GFCI, AFCI and special outlets, single-pole, 3-way and 4-way switches and lighting installations, as well as conduit bending. September 2021, I started working full-time for Corlan Electrical Inc. In this commercial construction setting, I worked at the retrofitting Shopify offices and an Access Storage sites. My job experience includes reading blueprints to bend and run conduit, pull BX cable and T90 wires through flooring, walls and conduit, installing recepticals, various lighting types and motion sensors. I am familiar with the common material such as boxes, connectors, unistrut, drop anchors and threaded rod. I own and I can also competently demonstrate my ability to use of a variety of hand and power tools such as impact/hammer/SDS drills, various bits, bandsaw, lasers and levels, pliers and cutter, wire strippers, screw drivers and wrenches, circler saw, mitre saw, table saw, oscillating tool, grinders, routers. I also have knowledge of electrical testing equipment such as a digital multimeter, outlet, and voltage testers. Working safe, knowing my materials and learning from my co-workers are the focus of each dayI am physically fit and capable to handle heavy lifting. I have experience moving large and heavy material up multiple flights of stairs. I was a university varsity athlete, competitive mountain biker, and I can carry 50+lb hike pack, along with 16’ canoe over 1km distance, over rugged trail. I have a Valid G drivers license and a reliable vehicle. I have completed safety training for WHMIS, Work at Height, and Electrical Safety.I have always been a handy do-it-yourself person. I completed a full remodel of my own four piece bathroom. This remodel was a full demolition and replacement of electrical, plumbing, walls, tile and amenities. Other home renovations have included (but not limited too), a room addition, rebuild of the carport and fence, laying hardwood flooring and water softener installation.
