I started at Ashley’s as a scooper and quickly stepped into a managerial role within a year. Here I became responsible for overseeing business operations through money management, tending to inventory management, and training new employees. I was elated with I was accepted into the Disney College Program I contributed to the seamless operations of Epcot's Food and Wine Festival, and then Outdoor Vending. I completed my internship at South Kingstown Senior Center, collaborating with the incredible existing staff on various roles within the center. One of my roles included acting as an interim exercise instructor where I program-planned and instructed a strength and conditioning class 3x a week. Because this class was such a success, I was asked to implement a class for seniors with cognitive and memory disabilities. I organized an expression-focused plan with various artistic mediums practiced each week, from music to crafts. Through the different programs I oversaw, I learned how to market them through the preparations of media promotions within the Center. This increased interest in programs by 20%. I expanded my technological assistance in other areas of the center including administrative work and technical help with other classes.

During my time at the University of Rhode Island, I wanted to deepen my clinical research skills within my major so I volunteered my time as a research assistant. I worked with Dr. Furong Xu, a health and physical education professor within the program SCFFF (South Country Food, Fitness, and Fun.) This program worked with the local community to educate kids as well as their parents on healthy eating habits as well as fun ways of incorporating physical activity in an increasingly digital world. In this work, we gave kids pedometers to see if their physical behaviors changed during the intervention. We collected the data and then interpreted it to the effectiveness of each week's corresponding topic. I worked with my assigned mentor, a local elementary physical education teacher, to brainstorm the theme of each week.
