I was personal assistant to the banking and finance department head partner and secretary to a team of six lawyers. My contribution to the team involved: diary management, arranging client entertainment, catering and conference resources; organising client events and arranging domestic and international travel. As the face of the team, I was readily available to speak with internal and external clients and ensure their needs were promptly met. I attended to key account management for one of the big four Australian/New Zealand banks including contributing to monthly and quarterly reporting, and training support staff on key account requirements.

In my role as legal secretary, banking and finance, I provided secretarial support to three lawyers and acted as stand-in support to a broader team. Our clients included banks, investment companies and government agencies. In addition to my legal secretary role, the IT department approached me to assist with their roll out of iManage. My role as IT helpdesk support and training coordinator involved updating and installing software on all firm PCs and providing on-the-floor training. Following the roll out, I was the main contact in IT for ongoing support of iManage. More generally, I assisted the helpdesk team service by formatting documents, and setting up and maintaining PCs, printers, fax/scanner machines, blackberries and mobile phones.

I began at Georgiou Nicholas as a float secretary and was quickly promoted to legal secretary, conveyancing managing my own files under the supervision of a senior lawyer. This involved drafting correspondence, legal reports and preparing contract, attending to exchange and settlement, and liaising with clients, banks, estate agents, the Land Registry, and other government departments and agencies. I was also responsible for billing, diary management and travel arrangements.
