Payroll Vault is a locally owned and operated, boutique-style full-service payroll company that relieves business owners of the time-intensive tasks associated with processing payroll. In doing so, they can focus on managing and growing their business. Alongside providing expertise in payroll services, we also support businesses with one-to-one personalized client service. This is our most pronounced differentiator between us and other payroll giants where you can become “a number”. Straight out of college, I started in the tax department with Arthur Andersen, LLP. There, I worked mostly on Timber Tax and State and Local Tax filings. While there, I was able to spend part of the year helping develop our in-house tax software. Every fall, the federal and state governments update their forms and instructions based on changes in tax law. Each year the software needs to be updated to support the new and complex calculations. I found that I was especially well suited to understanding the complex tax changes and was able to help develop and release a quality tax product for all of the Arthur Andersen line offices. I was always volunteering for new projects, one of which was a two-summer project helping Microsoft develop and release the 1999 Microsoft Federal Tax Saver product. With so much experience developing software, I left in 1999 to become a quality assurance engineer for a few dot com businesses. It was after multiple successful projects, I decided to get my master’s in management information systems. I spent the next fifteen years working with Wolters Kluwer developing Business, Individual, Payroll and State tax software for tax professionals. While working for Wolters Kluwer, I was able to pursue my Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt with Virginia Polytech. Utilizing the tools and skills learned with Lean Six Sigma, I was able to complete multiple projects saving the company over 4 Million dollars annually. I also had the opportunity to work directly with many of our customers facing challenges. Using my expertise and process improvement skills, I was able to become a key go to person for sales, support and many of our regular customers. Eventually, I decided to move on to launch a Payroll Vault location in Cobb County, GA.
