Reflective Practice & Research FellowshipPillar Nonprofit Network Mar 2019 - Sep 2019I have participated in a Reflective Practice and Research Fellowship from March 1 - Sept 16, 2019. To read more visit https://pillarnonprofit.ca/news/reflective-practice-and-research-fellowshipI captured the network approach, origin stories, learning, and impact of Pillar’s journey as a network support organization and two of its key initiatives, Innovation Works and VERGE. Further, I worked alongside local, provincial, national and international networks and capturing research about the value of cross sector collaboration in building connections to strengthen positive community impact. I have been at Pillar for over 11 years during a time of rapid growth and development. I am often asked to share what we know with communities interested in initiating similar programs, processes and resources. This Fellowship allowed for some protected time to capture our learning, contribute to strategic projects and develop materials that will help us share widely including a microsite "The Network Approach by Pillar Nonprofit Network." I participated in the Maytree Policy School to explore how networks can influence public policy and developed an organizational strategy as part of the Fellowship. To see what I learned and our policy strategy visit https://pillarnonprofit.ca/news/top-10-takeaways-and-actions-maytree-policy-school. Further, I attended the Foundations of Purpose program at Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity. To see my reflections from this program visit https://pillarnonprofit.ca/news/journey-finding-my-foundation-purpose.This opportunity was made possible by the generous support of Alegria 3 Inc., Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity, Cambia Development Foundation, The CulturePlex Lab at Western University, The Curated Suitcase, Decade Group, Horizon Leadership Institute Inc., Lawson Foundation, Maytree Foundation, Paul Cocker, and Ursuline Sisters. -
