Michelle Brazas, PhD, has more than 15 years of progressive leadership experience in research, bioinformatics education and management, having worked as a scientist, knowledge translation manager and senior program manager across diverse research environments. Now as the Associate Director of Adaptive Oncology at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR), Dr. Brazas manages a new initiative which aims to develop an adaptive approach to cancer care that anticipates how tumours change over the course of time and in response to therapy. She champions research transparency, learning opportunities for the next-generation of scientists and helps facilitate community building in her field, co-founding the Toronto Bioinformatics User Group (TorBUG) and volunteering for COVID-19 Resources Canada. She holds a Doctorate in Microbiology from the University of British Columbia, as well as Certificates in Adult Learning, Knowledge Translation and Advanced Strategic Leadership from the University of Toronto.
