I am Head of the Learning & Engagement Department in the Library & Information Services Division at the University of Limerick. I am responsible for the leadership, management and development of the Learning & Engagement Department in the Library, which supports the learning and teaching needs of the university community. I am a member of UL's Library Management Team and provide strategic input into the development and management of the library and to the creation of a culture of excellence in the provision of resources, facilities, expertise and services. Previously I worked as the Head of the Information Services Department in the library, as the Librarian, Administration, managing projects, conducting assessment activities and promoting library services and collections. I worked in the Technical & Digital Services Department as the Librarian for Electronic Resources & Web Services for a time in 2014 and before that I was a liaison Librarian in UL, supporting the College of Engineering & Education initially and afterwards the Faculty of Science & Engineering. Prior to joining the University of Limerick I worked in the Research & Development division of Analog Devices Inc. and while preparing for my graduate studies I worked at the Linguistics Institute of Ireland in Dublin. While completing my undergraduate studies I worked part-time at DELL Ireland.I have presented at national and international conferences, and published in peer-reviewed journals and practitioner literature. I was elected twice by PMSS (Professional, Managerial and Support Staff) colleagues to the University of Limerick's Governing Authority, serving 2 terms, between 2015 and 2022. I am a member of the Council of the Library Association of Ireland (LAI) and within that, serve on the LAI Centenary Planning Group, on the CPD Committee and am involved in the Western Regional Section of the LAI.
