Support the divisions within the Department of Medicine (DOM) with data analytics through Microsoft Office, Power Apps, and PowerBi to measure quality, access, and operations initiatives promoted by the Chair’s Office. Restructure and administer a staff satisfaction survey by leading a four-person team through question development, advertising, Qualtrics survey analytics and distribution, and action plan building to address company-wide staff concerns to improve employee culture. Investigate current space utilization and lease agreements across divisions within the DOM through one-on-one discussions with division administrators and corporate real estate to address underutilization and expand healthcare access and reach within the greater Pittsburgh area.

Participated in 25+ Hours of CITI training to understand compliance, ethics, and policies related to healthcare and clinical trials. Designed, and formatted a user-friendly electronic booklet (electronic) of clinical trial resources for researchers at the university and UPMC to standardize and facilitate clinical trial processes.

Wrote 45-page Capstone thesis discussing the issue of human trafficking in North Carolina and providing a policy solution as a state-mandated prevention education model. Interviewed relevant stakeholders to incorporate expertise and identify challenges to implementation. Created an interactive, user-friendly webpage with a brief overview of human trafficking and maps that illustrate single risk factors across North Carolina counties (e.g., minority populations, violent crime, education level) compiled into a complete risk index map calculating risk for each county. Accepted to present at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women 2024 after presenting to the Executive Director and President of WomenNC, and viewers at the hosted Lunch ‘N Learn.

Participated in 22-hour crisis response training that highlighted the empowerment model, short-term client advocacy, crisis intervention, and child abuse prevention to prepare for the role. Provided emotional and social resources to survivors and bystanders of sexual violence through a 24/7 call and message helpline to empathize with victims and promote advocacy.

Facilitated 2-3hr. seminars for UNC students, faculty, and staff on violence prevention, bystander intervention (One ACT), and trauma-informed support for victims/survivors (HAVEN). Fielded questions during workshops and university events regarding definitions, policies, and procedures for immediate and long-term support options for victims/survivors. Provided attendees with the knowledge and space to reevaluate and destigmatize sociocultural norms surrounding topics of sexual violence (consent, implicit bias, victim blaming, rape culture, institutional and societal catalyzers of violence).

Proposed and presented a “Call to the Community” to the Executive Director of Student Wellbeing to participate in a national stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence, culminating in a permanent display of a denim quilt in the university’s Student Union. Led the coordination of the awareness campaign (e.g., met with campus partners, organized a campus-wide denim drive, drafted a blueprint of the quilt, asked student groups to design patches with survivor affirmations, marketed events across campus and through social media, and arranged events with local businesses). Delivered a speech during the ceremony, identifying the event’s importance to the community and myself. Collaborated with journalism students to raise awareness about the issue of sexual violence and Denim Day (e.g., University’s and Chancellor’s Instagram). "Denim Day Carolina is for every Tarheel to stand in solidarity with victims and survivors, taking a step towards bringing peace to the violence on our campus, in our communities, and around the world. Denim Day empowers us all to stand against violence - those who have experienced harm, those who have caused harm, those who have witnessed harm, and those who fight for justice."

Shadowed Clinical Unit Director, Administrators on Duty, Director of Nursing, Project managers, Executive Directors. Gained insight into day-to-day operations and administrative duties (e.g., participated in capacity and nurse leader meetings, monitored overflow regulation between system hospitals, discussed operational and financial implications of agency nursing, analyzed capital budget and allocation of resources, observed leadership and complaint management).

Served as liaison between nurses, nursing support staff, and patients by responding to patient call bells, assisting and ordering patient meals, sustaining essential necessities for daily unit functions, designing a positive and encouraging unit floor, and providing company and emotional support to patients. Provided 3-page feedback summary to improve current clinical associate position. (This position was newly created to support agency staff).

Conducted a study to validate agents that have been assigned the 1811 classification series at a federal level. Evaluated the existing eligibility for classification status, recommended revisions to ensure compliance, and developed an implementation plan for program success and fidelity. Scribed for team meetings and interviews with department directors and agents. Devised organizational framework for data collection and management (e.g., tracker with 70+ interviewees, component agencies with breakdown of classification groupings). Presented cost-analysis recommendations to a panel of administrators and authored sections of the final research paper.

Co-led sports / games division of vacation bible school and developed engaging physical curriculum for each elementary grade level (summer 2015 – 2018). Directed dance & music modules for each elementary grade level (summer 2019 – 2021). Facilitated and adapted religious education topics to K-3rd grade learners (academic year).

Communicated between patients, families, and medical practitioners to facilitate an amicable care environment, organizing patient medication pick-up and hospital discharge. Escorted incoming patients and families to preferred hospital locations.
