I'm a software developer (mostly Javascript), bike commuter, tender of plants and cats, and human being.My style of development is pragmatic, principled, and team-oriented. I strive to write readable, maintainable, and well-documented code that is grounded in well-defined business needs. I'm always in search of opportunities to grow my knowledge in code fundamentals, my skills with particular frameworks, my facility in greater code testability and test coverage, and my ability to work effectively with, and learn from, those around me.I have over 8 years of education and experience in software development, after a career in market and evaluation research, analysis, and communications (in private, public, and nonprofit organizations) of more than 7 years. I hold a BS in Sociology/Anthropology (Earlham College) and a Master's in Public Policy specializing in research methodology (University of MN Humphrey School), after which I completed Prime Digital Academy's intensive 18-week software development bootcamp as part of the Beta cohort.In addition to my development training at Prime, I have also been active in the local React and Javascript communities; in past years I was also involved in the Python and Groovy/Grails communities. I enjoy attending local events around civic hacking, technology, innovation, and data analysis.
