CurrentThe Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre (KIMC) is a registered charity with Limited Company status that was established in April 2000. The building was conceived and developed by Liverpool Black Sisters (LBS) an organisation that was set up in the early 1980’s to tackle inequalities for women and the local community of Liverpool 8 (Toxteth).KIMC’s mission is to provide a community resource that supports and encourages the economic development, regeneration and sustainability of the local and wider diverse communities of Liverpool and Merseyside. KIMC has worked to establish a sustainable business model for the centre, and significant progress has been made over the last 14 years whereby the building has become a significant hub for a wide range of activities, projects and initiatives for its many diverse groups and individuals which use and support the centre.Kuumba Imani’s principles underlie all its operations in the Centre, including the provision of a quality community resource centre. We provide a community resource within a professional environment, we aim to help nurture a strong community, both economically and socially which embraces social inclusion. The building consists of offices for 7 local and national charities as well as 2 public sector tenants and 1 private sector tenant.The building also houses a conference,training and meeting room area as well as a large self-contained office with outdoor area and potential for parking.
