About Michelle Mathews

I have over 25 years of progressive experience as a teacher, administrator, advocate, trainer, consultant, grant writer, college instructor, curricula developer, researcher, evaluator, and assessment coordinator. Most of my career has been spent managing grants, protocol development, research design, training data collectors, quantitative and qualitative data collection, data entry, analyzing data, and report writing. In addition to my experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office and Outlook, I am also proficient in SPSS, a computer program used for statistical analysis. With all of my work, the goal has centered on increasing quality in education and positive outcomes for student learners.Since 1995 I have been training individuals on the Environmental Rating Scales for infant/toddler, preschool center-based, family child care home-based, and school-age programs. I have worked as a Master Assessor and Trainer using these instruments on many research and evaluation projects in Missouri. I have received training by the authors and have achieved inter-rater-reliability with the author's team of trained and reliable assessors. Although most of my experience is in the early childhood field, the skills and personal qualities I possess are transferable across disciplines. My professional skills include effective communication, both verbal and written; strong leadership, management, and interpersonal abilities; computer and technical literacy; problem solving and creativity, teamwork skills, diversity sensitivity; and significant planning and organizing capabilities.Personally, I am adaptable, flexible, honest, and professional with a positive attitude and energy. I am highly motivated, detail- and results-oriented with strong initiative.
