About Michelle Cortes Barra

I hold a Bachelor degree in International Relations (IRID-UFRJ) and I'm currently pursuing a Master's degree in Analysis and Management of International Politics (PUC-Rio). My experiences are strongly aligned to my purpose of being a living tool of change in society, providing social impact, aiming at reducing social, political and economic inequalities, especially the ones that intersects with gender and race. Since 2018, I've been working to reduce social gaps through the Brazilian government, NGOs, an international organization and a Brazilian think tank which encompasses the themes of public, climate and digital security, and civic space. Currently, I am in the position of Senior Analyst of Institutional Relations, at Serenas, dialoguing with and building conections amongst governments and civil society organizations, seeking to advance the gender and human rights agenda in Brazil. In addition, I am an enthusiast for public policy, gender equality, human rights, international development and innovative sustainable policies. I believe that these themes can be intertwined and work perfectly well together. For more informations, please contact me via DM or send me an e-mail to michellecortes@serenasbr.org
