Collaborates with the nurse manager, supervises staff and unit operations and provides direct patient care. Performs a variety of administrative, human resource, quality improvement, and unit coordination activities. Ensures unit compliance with departmental, Prisma Health, safety, regulatory, environmental, and infection control standards. Provides direct patient care in charge nurse capacity role. Oversees scheduling, patient rounding, investigation/resolution of patient care issues, and interdepartmental coordination. Assists with interviewing, hiring, evaluating, coaching, counseling, staff rounding, and performance management of unit staff.
