I founded Techtonica to break down the barriers into tech for the people who are most underrepresented in tech and most in danger of displacement by tech. Techtonica is a nonprofit that provides tuition-free tech training with laptops, living stipends, and job placement or search support to women and non-binary adults with low incomes. Grew to +100 NPS (from cohort and staff).▪ Created and drove roadmaps for the open-source PERN curriculum, org website, and keyboard shortcuts practice app.▪ After crowdfunding $41k from 387 backers, established a sustainable finance strategy with hiring partners. ▪ Presented Techtonica’s vision to hundreds of corporate executives and increased the annual budget 14.5 times in 3.5 years with support from companies like Sony PlayStation, Stack Overflow, Cisco Meraki, Indeed, and AppDynamics.▪ Won a pitch competition and worked with Silicon Valley execs on marketing, business model, operations, and growth for 6 months in the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship’s GSBI Boost and Accelerator programs. ▪ Devised mission-focused engagement, brand, and event policies, strategies, priorities, and metrics to grow a diverse community of three main target audiences—2,500+ volunteers/individual supporters, 400+ sponsors and partner organizations, and 600+ participants from underserved communities. On average, graduates—88% BIPOC, 21% are parents, 21% with disabilities, 10% outside the gender binary, and 1% veterans—have tripled their incomes.▪ Organized special placement partnerships for grads laid off during the early days of the pandemic so 100% could have secure incomes.

I utilized my passion for organizing diverse tech communities to welcome people to Twilio's tech community through domestic and international meetups, product feedback hackathons, technical career events, developer conferences, Twilio's SIGNAL conference scholarships and speaking tracks, and more.▪ Developed an inclusive event process and led 37 developer events, including the first Relay Conference, with +83 NPS.▪ Created and initialized a cross-functional Developer Network CRM strategy with 18,000+ contacts.▪ Selected, coached, and managed 77 speakers (51% people of color and 46% women) for 4 annual SIGNAL conferences.▪ Referred 240 underrepresented candidates to Twilio and organized meetups for SIGNAL Scholarship recipients.▪ Researched and proposed a speaker compensation strategy that was adopted for the annual SIGNAL conference.

The Coaching Fellowship nurtures and brings together high potential young women leaders of social impact through coaching and community. Fellows are matched with executive coaches to accelerate leadership growth. Fellows become part of a global network and new generation of women leaders representing 80+ countries; the fellowship community is made up of nonprofit leaders, entrepreneurs, activists, rocket scientists, artists and more.I was accepted to this program in the early stages of Techtonica and have been part of the community since.

Being Zana's sole full-stack developer meant that I worked with Python/Django, HTML/CSS/LESS, Bootstrap, Postgres, and many other technologies every day.

I built the #ILookLikeAnEngineer ad campaign highlighting underrepresented engineers and the discrimination they face. As the sole engineer at ChiShen.Ma, a Chinaccelerator startup, I was responsible for the entire app, meaning I worked daily with tools such Python/Django, jQuery Mobile, HTML5/CSS3, Postgres, South, Heroku, Bitbucket, Ken Wheeler's Slick carousel, and many others.
