About Michelle Haffner

How can we get parents engaged in volunteering at school? That’s how it started…we needed a website. As an IT professional with mainframe experience and a little bit of Java I stepped up, found a CMS for non-profit organizations and worked with the PTO Chairs to design a website to get parents engaged in and informed about school activities. My interest was sparked. A passion was re-ignited. I was ready to get back into it. I signed up for a C# and .Net Web Developer Bootcamp to update my skills and learn something new. The training paid off! I had the opportunity to learn Microsoft Azure App Services working as a technical support engineer. I found this technology fascinating to learn about. My desire to get back into coding prompted more education. I went back to my roots and refreshed my COBOL mainframe skills. My desire is to use a combination of old skills and new to help companies that have legacy systems move to modern technologies. Yes, its old tech but I have a natural aptitude for COBOL and that’s where I’d like to get started again. I’m always interested in advancing my IT skills with current technology. Migration projects from legacy systems to a modern platform is something I am striving for and passionate about.
