About Michelle Schenk

I have the privilege of preparing amazing students at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) for their future careers and connecting them with employers for part-time jobs, internships and full-time post-graduate opportunities! Feel free to reach out for more information or to connect.A little bit about me:I grew up on Fort Sam Houston, went to Trinity University for undergrad, was stationed at Lackland AFB while in the Air Force and now I’m back in San Antonio again! In February of 2021, I took on a new opportunity at UTSA’s centralized University Career Center as the Director of Employer Engagement to work with companies on their campus-wide recruitment strategy. In September 2022 I was promoted to Senior Director of the University Career Center where I manage both the employer engagement and career development teams, and as of January 2024, the UTSA Health Professions Office.I began my post-undergraduate career as a finance officer in the U.S. Air Force. After 8 years of active duty service, I pivoted into a career in higher education. I worked in MBA Career Management at Texas McCombs, The University of Texas at Austin for 13 years, starting as a career advisor and lecturer for the full-time MBA program and eventually moving over to the employer relations side of the house. I'm most proud of increasing Texas McCombs' west coast employers and presence, championing DE&I working with the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management (CGSM) and Texas Veterans in Business (TVIB), co-founding Day in the Bay/Day by the Lake (top tier b-school consortiums nationwide), and trailblazing Texas McCombs' official involvement in SXSW. I worked with some amazing colleagues along with the best former students/now Texas McCombs alumni and will never forget them.
