I attended Morehead State University in Morehead, KY, received a bachelor’s degree with a double major in Spanish and Math. I am certified as a partially accredited Department of Justice Accredited Representative and a Paralegal. I am currently working in the non-profit, Immigration legal field, serving low-income individuals with immigration legal needs. I love to learn and enjoy teaching others new things. Throughout the years, I have learned the importance of being a hard and efficient worker. Upon graduating, my husband and I moved to Mexico for three years where I worked as a Math teacher in an English immersion school. Throughout daily life, I was able to solidify my skills in Spanish language and Mexican culture. Currently, I am working at the Maxwell Street Legal Clinic where I have been working since July of 2017. I started as a part-time employee and was promoted to a full time practitioner in March 2018. In January 2021, I was promoted again by acquiring an additional role as the legal assistant supervisor. I maintained my case load while taking on the additional responsibilities of managing the legal assistants. I provide them with additional training and assistance as needed. I helped form and regulate systems for consistency within the office and implement those systems by supervising the legal assistants. I am proficient in computer software including Word (publisher, excel, and word processor) and Google Drive platforms. I am proficient in legal software systems including eImmigration Cerenade and Legal Files. I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I have strong time management skills, and I can organize a high capacity of clerical tasks. I am able to lead, manage, and teach groups of individuals giving clear instructions and expectations.
