As Physician Liason, I work with the Administrative Council implementing the physician development plan and integrating new providers into the hospital and clinic system. I act as a primary contact for medical staff when concerns arise regarding ease of practice at Allen.

As Recruitment Coordinator for Northeast Iowa's Area Health Education Center, I am responsible for planning, developing and coordinating community outreach programs as they relate to the recruitment and pursuit of health care careers.

As Surgical Development Coordinator, my main responsibilities were to perform analysis of service lines and practice/physician volumes of WFHC-Iowa Surgical Services, Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the Iowa Spine & Brain Institute in accordance with the organization’s strategic plan. I was responsible for coordinating initiatives to raise volume through marketing, advertising and other promotional activities for the surgical department, orthopedics, radiology services, Outpatient Clinic, the breast care program and the Iowa Spine and Brain Institute.

As Coordinator of POCT and Satellite Laboratory Services, responsibilities included coordination and oversight of all bedside testing as well as laboratory testing at off-site clinics (2 Moderately Complex Laboratories and one site with a Certificate of Waiver). Institute training programs and evaluate the nursing staff’s competency to perform bedside testing and the laboratory staff’s competency to perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing procedures. Act as liaison between the laboratory and the individual units and clinics Coordinate the proficiency testing program for all POCT and satellite Labs Maintain all records for the POCT program and satellite labs Investigate and resolve technical and workflow problems Introduce and implement new instrumentation Distribute, monitor and troubleshoot all instrumentation Gather, review and interpret all QC data Develop laboratory policies and procedures for the Point-of-Care Testing program and for the satellite laboratories Responsible for compliance with governmental, accreditation and hospital standards, the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 (CLIA ’88), HCFA, OSHA, and JCAHO for areas of responsibility Work with Administrator relative to capital and operating budget, variance analysis and trends in productivity, volume, acuity and service Responsible for staffing of satellite laboratories, scheduling, personnel evaluations and work performance
