Accounting Department Coordinator - General Ledger Accountant
Current• Provide comprehensive assistance to the Accounting Supervisor, actively contributing to the timely completion of critical projects while proactively managing high-priority tasks on a daily basis.• Assist in project planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to established timelines.• Prepare and audit month-end general ledger journal entries and perform reconciliation of general ledger accounts, and analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts to discuss profits and royalties with franchise managers monthly.• Process weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for 33 franchise companies, print payroll checks, send ACH payments and upload Positive Pay files to multiple bank accounts.• Serve as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) expert, managing the annual filing of ACA forms to the IRS for over 20 companies, ensuring accurate and timely submission while maintaining compliance with government. • Collaborated closely with internal teams and stakeholders to develop and implement streamlined processes and systems for ACA compliance, resulting in significant reduction of errors and penalties.• Provided comprehensive expertise and training for technical inquiries in the accounting department, providing guidance on accounting software, timekeeping systems, Excel, and tax websites.• Conduct training sessions to onboard new employees and provide ongoing training to improve colleagues' proficiency in software applications.Develop thorough user guides and documentation to assist franchise company employees and colleagues in utilizing accounting software effectively.
