Dr. Michelle Ihrig is part of the inaugural class of Cobb County School District's new online education solution: Cobb Online Learning Academy (COLA). Dr. Ihrig teaches core, ESOL, and gifted 6th and 7th grade students in the area of mathematics. She is also a member of the school leadership team.

Started as a part-year hire in November 2017. During second year, Michelle became a PBIS Coach and served in that role for two years. Each year, Dr. Ihrig was identified as Teacher of the Month and in the 2019-2020 school year was a Teacher of the Year finalist at the school. In 2019-2020, Dr. Ihrig assumed the role of AP Coordinator and registered an additional 200 students for AP testing. She also started an SAT preparation program (interrupted by COVID), and created over 40 videos to support teachers with online instruction.

Developed an online professional development library by watching clips of other master teachers and then creating short videos for teacher improvement. Designed and developed entire catalog of over 70 different videos.

Michelle Ihrig was the second leader of PBFI: Opening Global Doors. Changing Lives Forever. PBFI was a self-governed elementary school in Minneapolis Public Schools and is now a program of Cityview Community School of Innovation. In her role, Michelle hired 10 of 12 permanent staff positions and worked with district personnel to develop a plan to prevent the school from closure.

Michelle Ihrig was responsible for assisting teachers in developing lessons and curriculum which is inclusive for all students regardless of ability or level. The process included considering the ADDIE model of instructional design and the extensive use of Bloom's Taxonomy for higher order thinking. From 2010-2012, Michelle acted as the school's Special Education Administrator and facilitated Planning and Placement Team meetings for students at Stamford Academy Charter High School. In 2012, Michelle completed writing Math Curriculum Guides for grades 9-12 based on the Common Core Standards which was approved by the Connecticut Charter Review Board on February 14, 2012. In 2012, Michelle was promoted to Coordinator of Special Education for Domus Charter Schools.

Michelle Ihrig was the founder of PrimeProject.Biz. She specialized in short-term projects which reap great rewards. A major focus of her company was the development of administrator-friendly websites in which she built and then equipped her client with the necessary skills to continue them independently. Michelle Ihrig is experienced in creating training materials to meet the needs of the client. Her work is clear and concise and focuses on the best practices in adult learning and instructional design.Michelle Ihrig is experienced in helping to create small start-up companies. While in The Bahamas, she assisted in the creation of a tour company by conducting research, writing proposals, and meeting with officials at the Ministry of Tourism. She assisted in the entire development process and created a website advertising the organization.

During her two year tenure in The Bahamas, Michelle Ihrig completed a needs-analysis on the state of special education in The Bahamas; a copy is located below. She designed a pilot program for the unit at her high school. She designed curriculum to meet the needs of all learners and placed six students in inclusive education courses. In the 2009-2010 school year, Michelle Ihrig was promoted to Head of Department of the PreVocational Unit and continued the inclusive education program for all students in the unit.In addition to school duties, Michelle Ihrig worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Education. She interacted with people at all levels of government from teachers to government officials and cabinet members. As a consultant, M. Ihrig developed and conducted professional development trainings based on the needs of the school and country. Topics included: crisis management, differentiated instruction, multiple intelligences, website design, anger management, technology utilization and technology integration. Michelle Ihrig's trainings were interactive and dynamic. She designed material with the end result in mind and skillfully guided her adult learners on the path to goal achievement. She became experienced in small and large group settings. Michelle Ihrig understood the power of technology, and she incorporated it in her presentations and as a means of follow-up for her professional learners.

Michelle Ihrig worked for Sylvan Learning Center on a part-time basis in centers in the Rochester, NY area. She was responsible for delivering curriculum in a 3:1 setting. The Sylvan program is individualized based on the needs of the learner. Students ranged in age from 4 to adult. Michelle Ihrig focused on elementary and middle school math, and all subjects at the high school level. M. Ihrig also assisted with SAT preparation.

Michelle Ihrig worked with students with disabilities in a 12:1:1 self-contained setting. She is qualified as a Highly Qualified Teacher via NCLB HOUSSE requirements in the secondary areas of English Language Arts, Living Environment, and History. She presented and designed curriculum in innovative ways with a focus on multiple intelligence and differentiated instruction. Michelle Ihrig participated in frequent professional development opportunities and was active in a Mel Levine collegial circle. M. Ihrig became certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention with restraints.Michelle Ihrig also assisted the Penfield High School Robotics Team 1511 Rolling Thunder as a co-advisor. In this position she supported students and chaperoned out-of-school trips.

Michelle Ihrig assisted in the final year of The Commission Project as Grants Manager. She worked on a part-time basis. In this role she completed final reports for State and private grants as well as completed applications for new grants. Prior to being hired as the Grant Manager, Michelle Ihrig volunteered with the organization for approximately a year.

Michelle Ihrig helped to design a fundraising campaign for a new church building, served in children's ministry, conducted research for church projects, assisted other community organizations and created content for publications. Michelle Ihrig worked in this position while earning her M.S. Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology.

Michelle Ihrig began this position as part of the summer school program. After a few weeks, she knew this was the position for her. St. Joseph's Villa is a residential school for students grades 5-12 who require social/behavioral, mental health, and/or addiction assistance. As Math Curriculum Specialist, Michelle Ihrig ensured all curriculum met NYS standards. She was responsible for facilitating the curriculum process in Math for grades 5-12 as well as teaching upper-level high school math courses. She administered the KeyMath to incoming students. She conducted professional development offerings in mathematics, classroom management, and technology. Michelle Ihrig was active in the residential program outside of the scheduled school day by participating in campus choir and visiting students on weekends and holidays.

Michelle Ihrig was hired for the position of Special Educator prior to finishing her student teaching post at Newark High School, Newark, NY. Michelle Ihrig taught 2 years in a 12:1:1 setting with a case load of 21 students who rotated between classroom instruction and vocational readiness and 1 year in a 6:1:1 setting with a case load of 9 students. Supervisors of the classroom were located off-site and made weekly visits. Michelle Ihrig was responsible for 1-2 teaching assistants in this program in the areas of assignment of tasks, assessment of skills, and evaluations. Michelle Ihrig participated in the Title III curriculum writing grants and assisted in the development of a yearly high school curriculum map based on the work of Heidi Hayes Jacobs.
