Director - Waste InvestmentMinistry For The Environment | Manatū Mō Te Taiao Jul 2022 - Jul 2024I developed and lead the Waste Investment directorate at the Ministry for the Environment. Our team look after investment funds to support waste minimisation and resource recovery. Investment of the waste levy will increase to in range of $100M each year from 2024. We currently oversee delivery of more than 120 active projects across NZ, with approximately $200M in funds under management. -
Waste Infrastructure And InvestmentMinistry For The Environment Oct 2020 - Jul 2022Auckland, New ZealandAs part of the Covid-19 Response and Recovery Fund (CRRF) the Government invested $100 million in a package of resource recovery initiatives across the country. This package included assets to support reduction of organics to landfill, improved plastics recycling and processing plants, and weighbridges for improved waste data. This work will accelerate waste minimisation, and ensure New Zealand emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic with a far more resilient resource recovery system. It will also create permanent jobs and support economic stimulus across New Zealand.Along with the CRRF, my team oversaw the delivery of the largest infrastructure projects funded through the Waste Minimisation Fund, and established a new Plastics Innovation Fund. It is an exciting time to be back supporting NZ's aspirations towards a waste-free Aotearoa. -

This team worked with various segments of the Auckland community to introduce waste minimisation behaviour into households, community groups, schools and businesses. -

We worked to develop and deliver priority water quality protection action plans in the Croton Watershed. The Croton was NYC's oldest and most critical drinking water supply.
