About Michelle L.

Michelle L. is a Chief Technology Officer at Droplet Computing at Droplet Computing. She possess expertise in virtualization, vsphere, disaster recovery, infrastructure, cloud computing and 45 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "I had the pleasure of working with Michelle multiple times as a guest on her podcast series that focused on Virtualisation. What impressed me more than anything while working with her on podcasts was that she let me shine, it was the same with all participants of her series. The guest was always the Focus (she was also a generous editor). As far as I know I was the only guest she invited on more than one time. I also got to support her efforts at mentoring younger female engineers to enter the media space and produce their own podcasts (including myself). She is a leader in the technology space around Virtualisation a designated vExpert currently as well as in the past. She is an expert in All The following (Citrix\VMware\Cloud-Infrastructure in general). She is generous with her knowledge and is always available to ANY information seeker. If she can give another technology specialist a leg up, she will. Regardless of gender, specialty or time required. She has helped me with my own projects without hesitation because imparting knowledge to the public and her peers is a native state of being for her. She is gifted at public speaking and is always able to field the most insular questions (which most of us have to rely on “let me research that and get back to you”)she is also a respected author of Technology Manuels. She used to be the Editor of a very popular online technology website. If I could hire her I would in a heart beat!", "We asked Mike to come to our site and do a couple presentations to large groups of customers as well as multiple one-on-one meetings with our key accounts. While these were two very different tasks, Mike performed both with great skill. In large presentation settings Mike engages the audience while relaying meaningful content. Mikes presentation style is personal and makes you feel like the content is directed solely at you rather than the 200 other attendees. All of our customers commented that this was the most worthwhile presentation they had heard in a long time. In small groups Mike is particularly skilled at discovering the customers issues and problems and then building content on the fly to address their needs. Mike very quickly builds a repore with anyone he is working with, and makes you feel like a long time friend. Our intent on hiring Mike was to bring in the "world wide expert" on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. After having him onsite and working with our customers, I know we got exactly what we were looking for. I would not hesitate to recommend his work in any capacity.", and "Mike's PodCast are some of the best in the world. I have listened to several over the course of the years, and each one is well researched, and provides a third party view that allows an IT administrator to really dig on on great technology."

As Chief Technologist at Droplet Computing, I wear an array of brightly colored hats. I'm responsible for Partner Enablement, Pre-Sales, Q&A, and Testing, as well as aiding our CEO on product strategy. I'm also doing my share of documentation and building out various bits of collateral for internal/external use... at some stage, I guess I will be doing my share of booth duty at conferences (oh joy!) as well speaking slots as and when they come up. I create a number of integration guides, videos as well as KB articles. I get plenty of time in the lab reproducing and fixing issues as well as cooking up new skunkworks that our developers turn into products. In recognition of my contribution to the company, I recently promoted to CTO.In my spare time, I'm a keen amateur musician performing in the local pub scene, and the occasional support slot. I also curate a season of "Out and Proud" films at the local cinema - and I'm the founder of my town's LBGTIQA+ group.

    Senior Technical Consultant
    Sureskills May 2018 - Aug 2019
    Dublin, Leinster, Ie
SureSkills is a leader in the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of technical learning, knowledge, technical products, and candidate placement services and solutions. My focus was on developing the content around VMware's online training curriculum for their VMware Sales Professional (VSP) and VMware Technical Sales Professional (VTSP) accreditations. I worked with my SureSkills colleagues and VMware Staff to collate the content, update it for new technical marketing messages, and write the script that is spoken by the voice-over actors. My projects include the 2018 version of VMware's VSP for "Mobility Management" and for "Network & Security". I updated 2018 the VTSP course on VMware NSX, and incorporating the "Virtual Cloud Network" vision and concept. In 2019, I worked on the design for the new "Virtualize Africa" course and project. This course focuses on operating best practices around business-critical applications such as Microsoft Active Directory, SQL Server, Exchange Server, as well as SAP HANA and Oracle RAC. In addition to the above, I also help create the "knowledge check" and "assessment" questions that validated students understanding of the course content.
