As the Project Team Leader for an early phase program in oncology, I led and coordinated the efforts of groups from multiple functions, including research, protein sciences, PK/DM, toxicology, translational sciences, process development, legal, CRO's, and academic collaborators. I designed experimental strategies to validate target expression in patient tumor cells, evaluate different drug modalities, and select lead candidate molecules using in vitro and in vivo models. I also contributed to the recent approval of two marketed drug products, XGEVA and Prolia, as a member of the Denosumab Oncology Research Team. As part of the team, I provided support for the preclinical efficacy and toxicology sections of regulatory filings and contributed to preclinical research on denosumab mechanism of action including: RANK/RANKL roles in normal and pathologic bone resorption, bone metastasis, mammary gland biology, osteoclast/osteoblast biology, and gene signatures associated with RANK/RANKL signaling.
