In this clinical setting I am responsible for covering Hemodialysis. I work with the nephrology team rounding and providing nutrition assessments for the dialysis kids and supporting the team with nutrition recommendations.

I also provide coverage for the Nutrition Clinics where pediatricians refer children for multiple needs such as food allergy, failure to thrive, obesity, picky eating, eating disorders, and a variety of other nutrition related issues.

Cincinnati, Ohio Area

At this location I provided nutrition assessments and implement nutrition plans. I participated in Rounds, using a family centered approach, with a team of physicians, pharmacy, and other support staff. Deliver nutrition education and counseling in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. I develop nutrition support recommendations and adjust daily electrolytes.

I love to follow children from diagnosis through treatment making nutrition plan adjustments based on therapy, clinical status, and family’s preferences. Precept dietetic intern’s; review and evaluate presentations. Mentor and precept newly hired registered dietitians. Delegate appropriate tasks to dietetic technicians. Provide group and individual education to dietetic technicians.

Participated in multiple clinical, food service, and management rotations. Received hands
on patient care with one to five week rotations. Spent time on oncology, medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal, transplant, neurology, surgery, intensive care, cardiology, cardiology intensive care, psychology, and general medicine for clinical rotations.

Experienced acute care inpatient, along with long term follow up outpatient. Selected additional pediatric hospitals, Cincinnati Children’s and Lebonheur Childrens to complete special interest experiences. Selected to sit on the intern selection committee to evaluate the following year intern candidates. Delivered multiple case studies and presentations to staff and peers.

Finally, I provided staff relief for pediatrics, oncology, and transplant.

I was proud to be selected from nutrition and dietetics class to work with a private consultant dietitian. Conducted weekly nutrition education sessions geared toward adult weight loss. Spoke at local schools educating students on nutrition and health.

I attended business networking and promotion meetings presenting on details involving private practice. Conducted child weight loss programs. Assisted with Girls Inc., after school program, taught healthy eating habits and provided cooking demonstrations.

Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida Area

Here I reviewed diet orders to assure patient dietary requirements were followed. I trained and utilized a computerized call order system. I also delivered meals, and performed multiple kitchen duties. And finally I prepared and served foods for the café when needed.
