As a Territory Manager with Heartland, I led a team of other paytech professionals while also building a business network of internal partners across disciplines (Human Capital Management, Payroll, E-Commerce, Customer Engagement, Google My Business Services) to help as many small to medium size business owners as possible. So far, Sentier has released the Vetcorder - the veterinarian industry's smallest, Bluetooth connected multi-parameter monitor as well as the Diplomat - a full-size surgical modular monitor with world class technology. New versions of the Vetcorder and other technology solutions to be released in the coming year.

This position was a great place to gain insights into the nonprofit world. I used my expertise in marketing, writing, social media, design, and legislative advocacy knowledge to assist the Council in positioning themselves as the experts in vision services and resources in Wisconsin. Everyday I was updating our social media pages and website, writing materials such as press releases or grants, writing content for publications, and performing market research across our media platforms.During my short time there, I grew our social media presence by over 20%, re-engaged a group of blog writers to post weekly on our blog, and secured thousands of dollars in grants from local foundations and businesses.

I certainly did much more than I imagined in this position. From managing and coordinating projects to producing content for multiple newsletter productions that reach anywhere from 400 to over 11,000 people, I was always busy learning and sharing that knowledge with others. My specific roles as a communications specialist included project manager, meeting facilitator, website moderator, copywriter, editor, presenter, and trainer. I loved when I had the opportunity to collaborate with not only my TMG colleagues, but with external long-term care stakeholders, advocates, and family members of people with disabilities alike. Along with my efforts to serve those with long-term care needs, I spearheaded fundraising for the United Way of Dane County as a member of the Commnity Building Committee (CBC). All of this related to TMG's mission that I am committed to: Empowering people to create meaningful lives in their communities.

My start at TMG was the ideal place to learn everything I needed to know about self determination and long-term care services. I provided “float” support to nearly every job in the Service Center, including covering the Information Center, where I shared as much knowledge and solved as many problems for our staff, people in IRIS, and their providers as possible. When I wasn't on the phone, I was answering emails, providing the same level of customer service as over the phone. Oh, and I also processed a large number of plans to ensure people's services were authorized and appropriate for them to ensure their health and safety. While the average plans processed per week was 30, I was averaging over 50. Did I mention I'm bilingual? I served not only our many English speaking crowd but also our Spanish speakers as well.
