• Participated in hands on experiments at the ARS research lab under USDA principal scientists to focus on the predictive modeling of bacteria (GLP).• Adhere to all GxP regulations whilst in process and follow SOPs.• Assisting to make predictive modeling of the growth of Salmonella in poultry products.• Performed various tasks associated with microbiological techniques, aseptic and lab safety to contribute towards the research.• Micro pipetting, creating and diluting starter cultures, creation of MPN assays as well as media/buffer preparation.• Routinely monitor, clean and prepare cell processing equipment during incubation periods.• Isolate and culture bacteria and/or microorganisms in poultry for identification and study.• Routine testing of environment/utilities within lab.• Document, review and analyze micro and test/experiment results weekly (PCR, plate testing). • Safe handling and discarding of biohazardous material within the laboratory autoclave. • Daily data collection and data analysis throughout each task within the experiment.• Periodically perform lab inventory/supply maintenance • Adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Lab Practices (GLP).• Detailed/well organized documentation of tasks, analysis and results within lab in notebook and reports.
