Michelle’s calling for helping others led to her dedicating her career to speech-language pathology. She carries a Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds a license in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) in the state of California. Michelle earned her Master’s (MS) in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Chapman University in 2015. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of acquired swallowing, cognitive, communication, speech, and voice disorders, with a passion for helping restore her patient’s skills using evidence-based practices and individualized care. Experiences include working with a variety of neurological disorders, progressive neurological disorders, head and neck cancer, trauma patients, and spinal cord injuries.Michelle believes it is her purpose to advocate for individuals with acquired deficits and enable them to participate in the world around them by maximizing their skills, strategies, and access to communication. Throughout her career, Michelle has worked in various settings including outpatient, inpatient, acute-care, and home health care. She currently focuses her time between home health and acute care. Prior to moving to San Diego, she worked 3.5 years in an intensive brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in Pomona California. Michelle is friendly, compassionate, skilled, determined, has good listening skills, and is passionate about caring for her patients. These are characteristics she brings to her practice which allows her to quickly build a rapport with her patients and provide individualized therapy programs that generate results.
