As founder of Choice Translating and co-founder of TravelingBrand, both linguistics firms, Michelle “never met a stranger” and loves helping clients succeed in the global marketplace and within our diverse communities at home. In addition to translation and interpretation in 200 languages, her friendly and fabulous team also prevents branding blunders. Choice Translating was founded in 1995 and later TravelingBrand, which supports the naming industry. Who knew so many innocent-sounding names in English could mean…ahem… something extremely vulgar or embarrassing! Even the name ChatGPT could have been more carefully considered but instead makes francophones repeatedly say, “Cat, I farted” when referencing the AI platform out loud. Oops.Although known to write down business ideas in the middle of the night, Michelle has enjoyed other obsessions and fun experiences outside of the business world. These include raising all the animals from Old MacDonald’s farm at her family’s farm in the North Carolina foothills, living in France and Peru, and, more recently, helping others learn about the healing power of energy.Michelle fell into this latest passion quite literally. On Valentine’s Day 2021, she fell on rock and experienced a severe concussion and 21 months of debilitating post-concussion syndrome. This event and its aftermath reconfirmed that her team and family are amazing. They are! The team continued to rock on projects, and her family deserves extra kudos for their caregiving, patience, and love. Michelle learned that, apparently, she had to hit rock [bottom] to learn about the true power of love and peace. This lesson was thanks to a serendipitous meeting and transformational session with an energy worker, one spectacular October day. Michelle enjoys sharing her story about overcoming tremendous odds, challenging the status quo, and re-thinking our opinions. She helps others through her public speaking and interactive workshops with a phenomenal energy worker, introducing others to the power of energy, love, and peace for more fulfilled and impactful lives. Such incredible, life-changing experiences!
