After rebuilding the Beaver Scout colony, I moved to assistant Scout leader where my skill set was better suited. Here I use my outdoor adventure, survival and leadership skills to enable the troop to complete challenge activities on land and water. As well as assisting other sections and organising events.

Using my hobby as a seamstress and turned it into a small business, using knowledge gained from past employment to develop the company including web and social media elements. Specialising in complex high value wedding garments, providing services direct to end clients and local retailers. I learned valuable business skills and enjoyed developing relationships with clients and retailers. I quickly gained a reputation for high quality work. However, my business plans did not include the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic, which has drastically impacted the Wedding and Hospitality industries.

Voluntary position within the company to develop new skills and help a growing business. Self taught to work with Wordpress and develop websites using the platform with my basic level of knowledge of PHP. Using this skill, I maintained and built Heritage’s website when needed. Using Affinity photo and designer (very similar to Adobe photoshop and indesign) I created templates for stationary and watermarked images. After refining some of the existing website, I launched a business Facebook page that turned a local company into a global company within a year.One of the most exciting projects was my work with in the team to make a Formula 1 steering wheel work without the original computers. I came into this project to assist with the reverse engineering, specifically looking at the algorithms used to store values. The completed car and wheel was used in BetSafe media campaign video which went on to hitting over 12million views. The team and I went onto launching the car at the 2016 Gumball 3000 in Dublin.

As general office manager in a small business, I covered a multitude of activities. One of the most significant responsibilities was assisting the compliance manager in the maintenance of ISO 9001, achieving accreditation for ISO 27001 within a 15 month deadline, quickly followed by implementing and integrating GDPR. I was heavily involved with creation of the Information Security Management System and ensuring the correct usage of the system through training and one-to-ones. My technical knowledge allowed for easy communication with all departments, between departments and all levels. As part of assisting the compliance manager, I stayed current with emerging threats to help keep the business safe. Also, assisted with internal and external audits. With my prior knowledge of marketing and PR, I managed all events and had input on publications and the new website build.Worked with the development team to design, refine and problem solve projects.

Working across the different pharmacy departments, my role varied. In the Cytotoxic lab I would make chemotherapy for cancer patients and those on trials, stock control, environmental testing, and staff training. Thanks to my inquisitive nature, learning more than needed, I picked up an error which resulted in saving a life. Within manufacturing, I would assist in producing aseptic medicines as well as non-sterile medicines. Distribution and hospital wards saw me manage stock within the pharmacy department and on hospital wards, ensuring correct stock levels, expiry date checking and correct storage of medicines.
