Attitude shift toward inclusion needs to be compelling and demonstrated by a genuine and rigorous teaching practices and evidence based adjustments. Leadership teams need to understand the implications of the legislation around the Disability and best practice in regards to communication with parents, duty of care, documentation and restrictive practice. Children with disability can be challenging and there is no magic solution to sorting through all the issues confronting them. It requires a complex team approach with dedicated personnel guiding these strategies at a recognized senior level in the school hierarchy.
