My research interests focus on topics in hydrology related to groundwater recharge, issues of drought, urban water management, and water policy. Working in the field of hydrology allows me to develop tools and methods to provide water management agencies, such as the the Sonoma Country Water Agency and other California agencies, with tools for dealing with future changes, and will equip them with useful information for managing water resources in California.
Listed skills include Arcgis, R, Gis, Remote Sensing, and 29 others.

I am a graduate research assistant working toward a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering. My current research incorporates the use of field monitoring and modeling efforts to better understand the controls on groundwater pumping in an agricultural district of Sonoma County
Leipzig, Germany
I am currently developing research goals with the Sonoma County Water Agency to assess the factors involved in sustainable/unsustainable pumping from a riverbank filtration system. Factors include sedimentation, clogging, and the development of an unsaturated zone which prevents additional pumping and interferes with the supply of water to farmers. In this agricultural district, their most pragmatic research needs include access to knowledge about how and why the unsaturated zone develops and what pumping schedule perpetuates or mitigates the riverbed clogging process. In pursuit of these goals, I am working with researchers from UFZ who are leaders in the fields of river-aquifer connection, hyporheic zone dynamics, and riverbed permeability.

As the center lead, I was responsible for managing and coordinating the NASA Applied Sciences Ames DEVELOP program, working on cutting edge research related to groundwater, hydrology, and climate, proposing innovative project ideas to NASA HQ, conducting outreach with local, regional, and state agencies, presenting high profile research at national conferences, and mentoring research teams in fields of remote sensing, GIS, and environmental science. Additional management responsibilities include:-Co-author on the DEVELOP mission, vision, and strategic planning committee that defined the policies, procedures, and future direction of the DEVELOP program at the national level-Consultation with stakeholders, and clients to design and implement research goals. Stakeholders include the CA Department of Water Resources, US Forest Service, and the US Environmental Protection Agency-Manage and oversee daily operations, research methods, deliverable progress, and field work for 20+ students-Oversaw the formation, development and implementation of more than 10 different project teams with over 40+ students-Mentor aspiring young scientists in their pursuit of science and engineering
