As a financial analyst, I provide financial management support services to USAID activity managers and implementing partners throughout the program cycle. I analyze and advise on the financial aspects of designing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and closeout of USAID activities, projects and programs. I plan and conduct financial and related operational analyzes of various aspects of USAID funded implementing partners and internal operations of USAID Mission. My work includes the implementation of Mission Annual Audit plan; assist in training of Mission's technical office staff, and advise implementing partners on financial management issues. My work also entails conducting financial reviews of implementing partners and providing advice on budget related tasks and representing OFM at relevant stakeholders meetings to provide financial management information and other support.

I support management in financial planning and decision making by identifying, maintaining, and evaluating key issues with regards financial information and recommending appropriate actions. I perform analysis on operational activities including historical, current and projected revenue and expense, to guide the country program funds transfer decisionsI also support the work of 15 countries in financial planning and budgeting, grants analysis, financial management and monthly reporting, and internal audit. I conduct periodic program support missions to enhance the capacities of staff as well as operational effectiveness in the different countries within the region. I also support grant management work by providing a liaison across departmental colleagues working on various aspects of grants.

I was involved in program and project conceptualization, development, planning and budgeting through the development of forward looking and innovative proposals to various development partners. I provided financial management assistance to various projects for which PwC was the fund management agency. This included internal control reviews (health checks), development of manuals such as procurement manuals as well as routine operational accounting functions. I was also involved in coaching of less experienced team members

I specialized in the audit and review of projects funded by international funding agencies and occasionally implemented through government ministries. I also specialized in institutional audits of international non-governmental organizations, and I conducted pre-grant evaluations and internal review assessments of the same, as well as value for money assessments. I was also involved in coaching new graduate recruits, as well as business development.
