A registered landscape architect, I am passionate about designing land in a way that improves people’s lives. Born and raised in a small Midwestern town, after college I went to work with Thomas Balsley Associates in New York City. Here I worked on several urban public open space projects as well as on waterfront parks, green roofs and plazas, parks and recreation spaces, and city playgrounds. This time in New York instilled in me a desire to design stylish, functional spaces that accommodate and address the well-being of all types of users.At the HOK Planning Group in St Louis, I discovered my niche designing many of the same types of projects as in New York, but on a more diverse scale. I have worked on large urban healthcare campuses and international university campuses while maintaining my zeal for creating smaller spaces including corporate rooftop gardens, intimate courtyards and public realm studies of larger urban design projects. To each project, I bring a passion for design and an eye for small details that make a big difference. I believe that landscape architectural projects should create beauty not merely as a luxury but as a practical necessity.
