Introducing people to the natural world, fostering their understanding of the interconnectedness of living systems, and inspiring them to value a healthy planet has been my lifelong passion. Through many years as a naturalist, expedition leader, and expedition developer I worked to inspire people to care for the natural world by teaching them ABOUT nature. While at the Biomimicry Institute, I helped startup founders, scientist innovators, and students learn FROM nature, supporting their efforts to solve some of today’s biggest environmental and social challenges. Today, I'm working with Great Peninsula Conservancy to save the lands I love and help reconnect people in my community with nature. A lifelong traveler, I've worked as a naturalist guide in the temperate rainforests of Southeast Alaska, the desert islands of the Gulf of California, Central America, the Mediterranean, and across the Indo-Pacific. From 2003 to 2013, my husband Mark and I sailed our Morgan 38 from the Pacific Northwest to New Zealand via California, Mexico, French Polynesia, and Tonga. These days, you can find me working in my garden, hiking with my dogs, and putting down roots in the Pacific Northwest.
