Michelle is a passionate advocate for community development and public service, with over 20 years of expertise in marketing and communications. Currently, she serves as Vice President and Director of Marketing for North Valley Bank where she leverages her skills to foster meaningful connections and drive impactful initiatives that enrich the lives of the individuals and businesses she serves.Before joining North Valley Bank, Michelle successfully ran her own marketing company for nearly a decade, supporting small businesses and nonprofits in amplifying their voices and achieving their goals. Her dedication to local economic growth extends to her tenure as Executive Director of the Canal Market District in Newark, where she championed local food systems and entrepreneurship.Elected to the State Board of Education in 2020, Michelle represented the interests of students and families across 18 counties in Ohio, a constituency of over 1 million Ohio residents. Her four-year term that concluded at the end of 2024 reflects a steadfast commitment to empowering future generations through education and opportunity.Beyond her professional roles, Michelle actively contributes to her community through leadership and service. She served on the board of the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce for six years, holding the roles of board secretary and board chair. She currently serves as the Board Secretary and Development Committee Chair of the Licking County Coalition for Housing and also as a member of the marketing committees for the Licking County Foundation and Sophie’s Thrift Store. Recognized as a “community enthusiast,” Michelle has been involved with numerous organizations, including serving as Vice President of Marketing for the Young Leaders of Licking County. Her efforts were honored in 2017 when she was named one of Licking County’s “20 Under 40.”Michelle’s academic achievements include a degree in Communications from Texas A&M University, a master’s degree from Duke University, and a certificate in Creative Writing from Exeter College, Oxford University. A former Mayo Clinic-trained wellness coach, Michelle also holds the distinction of completing the grueling Ironman Chattanooga triathlon.Michelle lives in Newark, Ohio, where she balances her professional and civic commitments with the joy of raising her daughter, Mirabelle Hope, alongside their two Shih Tzus and two rescue cats.
