As a Senior Buyer with MRO purchasing experience for Honda of Alabama and additional buying experience with Duracell USA and Newport News Shipbuilding, I have developed exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce expenses, and improve results. Throughout my career in the automotive and manufacturing sectors, I have sought to negotiate the best possible price for my employer, going well beyond with negotiations for rebates, sign-on bonuses, and the potential for expanded scope of work with my organization. As a result, I consistently over-achieve cost savings goals by as much as 98%. Efficiency is one of my greatest strengths. To alleviate a siloed approach to suppliers, I developed a Maker Layout in ServiceNow for the entire Honda plant. As a result, everyone had 24/7/365 access to a master list of potential suppliers, which saved time and money. Recognizing that Honda employees’ twice-weekly access to multiple safety vendors was inefficient, I spearheaded a process by which we selected one comprehensive supplier, with products available in the plant for continuous access. In addition to increasing employees’ access to high-quality, affordable safety equipment, we increased their annual safety allowance by 25%. With a well-respected bias for accuracy and timeliness, I am a bulldog when it comes to resolving invoice issues. From vetting potential vendors to making sure invoices are written properly, excavating issues so they can be resolved in a timely manner, and traveling to a supplier’s site when necessary to address issues, I ensure purchasing processes are efficient, expedient, and accurate. Outside of work, I devour self-help books and enjoy shopping for unique pieces.
