Michelle Ryland, SE, RA is an Senior Associate with Klein & Hoffman and has 13+ years of experience in the repair, restoration, and adaptive reuse of vintage buildings in the Chicagoland area. She holds a B.S. in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture (Structures Option) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a dual-licensed structural engineer and architect in the state of Illinois.Michelle has served as a Project Engineer and/or Project Manager on numerous projects of varying scope and size. Her responsibilities include design and analysis for new construction, building modifications, and rehabilitation and repair for existing structures. She conducts field investigations, provides schematic design and design development services, prepares contract drawings and specifications, and provides construction phase services. Michelle's experience encompasses steel, concrete, timber, and masonry buildings.She has been involved with the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI) since 2012, currently serving as SEAOI's Secretary and Structures Symposium Committee Chair. Michelle has also been involved with the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) since 2018, currently serving as Director on the Board and Communications Committee Past Chair.
