As senior program manager and program officer, I am now managing the time-limited Public Interest Technology Catalyst Fund at Ford Foundation on the Technology and Society Team, focused on building infrastructure for public interest technology that will enable sustainable systems change across sectors. Default business logics of austerity, efficiency, and inequity cannot be allowed to dictate our technological futures absent even public debate. The public interest must be prioritized as we hurtle toward digitized and datafied planning and decision-making structures. My teammates at Ford and many contemporary luminaries across civil rights, critical internet inquiry, and more have been building the field of public interest tech for many years. I have the honor of walking in their footsteps as I work closely with Jenny Toomey to align across funders and drive unprecedented investment to cement public interest values at the infrastructure level of our digitizing world.

Part of Ford's technology fellows program, I am embedded on the Technology and Society team, where I investigate the strategic, practical, and ethical implications of emerging technology approaches, working to translate these insights into programmatic and strategic directives for internal and field-facing activities. I'm looking at surveillance capitalism, data and tech ethics, algorithmic bias and discrimination, declining trust in institutions, systems change strategies, the technological automation of structural inequality, public sector integrated data systems as architecture for automated decision-making, and more. Across these topics, I'm working to understand how shifting dynamics and nascent technologies impact the space for civil society, social capital, and the promotion of justice.

At Luminary Labs, I enjoyed a deep dive into shifting systems while working to amplify and build movements, transform companies in regulated industries, and help the public sector tackle intractable issues. Leveraging my background in systems analysis and cross-disciplinary research, I pursued holistic understanding and delivered targeted and actionable insight into processes, pain points, and emerging opportunity spaces in fields including education, urban planning, and health.As Research Strategist, I spearheaded information gathering to inform project design and execution across the book of business. I specialized in research, analysis, program design, stakeholder engagement, strategy development, narrative creation, sensemaking and pattern-finding, creative problem solving, writing, and project execution.As Senior Analyst, I led open innovation projects and contributed to research and strategy efforts business-wide.

As an analyst with SBI's Scan service, I was tasked with sensing change on the horizon, making connections across disciplines/technologies/industries, performing synthesis across diverse sets of data and information, and writing about developing and upcoming changes in diverse fields including materials science, health care, retail, government intelligence, oil & gas, and more. As an SBI consultant, I worked with multinational companies on opportunity discovery and strategic road-mapping exercises.

As a research assistant in the Cebrowski Institute, I had the opportunity to observe the information revolution as it is unfolding in the eyes of the military and wider federal government. I helped organize The Energy Conversation, a silo-spanning effort to network elements around alternative energy. I also coordinated online social networking efforts for the Naval Energy Forum and researched wicked problems & design thinking as research assistant to Nancy Roberts.

As Chief of Staff for the National High School Model United Nations Conference, I managed and coordinated a staff of 70 college students in planning an annual conference for 2500 high school students. I researched and prepared topic guides on a variety of world issues in the fields of politics, economics, environmental issues, and humanitarian affairs.
