From a Petroleum Geoscience graduate to a PhD in Petroleum Engineering and now, a Postdoc in the field of carbon capture, utilization and sequestration (CCUS). She is a target-oriented person, who has strong interest in reducing CO2 emission. She completed her bachelor study with honours in Petroleum Geoscience at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia and obtained her master degree in petroleum geoscience at University College Dublin, Ireland. When she worked as a booth exhibitor for BTYSTE Dublin, introducing Petroleum to public, she realized that there are a number of people "anti-petroleum" because of the large emission of CO2. In fact, to be fully independent of crude oil, there is still much work to be done.Hence, during her 3 years PhD study, she worked on improving the oil well cement integrity, specifically for CO2 sequestration site. Her research is about increasing the cement resistance against sequestrated CO2. While maintaining research lab operations and equipment, she gained the most satisfaction at work when she could put knowledge into practice, through sharing, interpreting data and solving problems. Now, she puts effort in studying the use of CO2 for carbonation curing and in-situ mineralization (including geological CO2 storage), hoping that this technology can have a larger scale implementation. She believes that in order to grow professionally, staying committed and inspired to institution’s and personal goals are the strong bases.
