CurrentThe Director of Human Resources (HR) provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organization's HR operations. This role sets, enforces, and evaluates legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifies and implements long-range strategic talent management goals.• Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management to improve the organization's policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures the organization's compliance.• Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.• Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by President, on personnel matters.• Works directly with department managers/supervisors to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.• Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.• Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs.• Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.• Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.• Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program, and cash flow.• Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt, nonexempt, and temporary workers.
