About Michelle Toro
In my second year as an attorney, my current matters are focused in intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. I have experience representing clients in patent litigation matters, including in the biomedical device and software spaces, as well as in contract disputes, especially those concerning oil and gas properties. Additionally, I am a member of my firm’s Artificial Intelligence Group, dedicated to keeping clients up to date on the potential legal risks that accompany the use of generative AI.I received my Juris Doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin in May 2023. I was the Chief Articles Editor for the Journal of Law and Technology at Texas, the Alumni Chair for the Chicano/Hispanic Law Students Association, and a volunteer for the Mithoff Pro Bono Program. In summer 2021, I was also a judicial intern in the 68th District Court of Texas for the Honorable Judge Martin Hoffman.Over the span of 13 years, I coached 9 seasons of club volleyball across various clubs in Texas, serving as head coach for 4 of those seasons. In my 2021-22 season, I was named one of the two Top Head Coaches at the club.Before law school, I worked at Lennox Industries as a Store Manager in Lewisville, TX where I managed the operations of a Lennox supply house while also providing HVAC contractors with parts and equipment and customer service. Simultaneously, I attended night classes in order to attain my Masters in Business Administration at University of Texas at Dallas, graduating May 2020.In 2017, I graduated magna cum laude as a mechanical engineering major and professional sales student with a 3.87 GPA at the University of Texas at Dallas. During my time at UTD, I was also a two-year captain of the varsity volleyball team and named an All-American and Academic All-American in the same season twice.
