Since I was about 7 years old, everyone expected me to grow up to be an artist. And they had every reason to think that; after all, I had that artist vibe with paint stains on all my clothes and I ended up spending a good 11 years in various art programs. The thing is, I never really wanted to be an artist. Sure, I loved to create pretty things. But the idea of making something pretty, only for it to uselessly sit on a wall or on a table, irked me. I wanted to build things that were functional - things that could help people. My dream job is one where I could work in a team to invent solutions that perfectly balance both beauty and function.I am now majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rochester and I've never looked back!With a degree in mechanical engineering and an experience in art, I know I'll be able to fit perfectly in my dream job. What I bring to the table:1. I am a perfectionist: I love to plan, organize, and catergorize2. Despite the above, I am good at improvising, since plans seldom work as you expect them to 3. I'm great for morale: I learned from experience how important attitude is when you're working with a team so I always try to lighten moods in stressful situations4. I am familiar with Matlab, Solidworks, and the Microsoft applications5. I love to bake so I can bring yummy pastries to the office :)6. I have taken classes in static, dynamic, and solid mechanics, thermodynamics, and engineering of bridges. 7.
